ANDREW BALDREY

Caol, Mallaig and the Small Isles, Highland Council

Andrew Baldrey is a retired engineer living in Invergarry. He is part of Lochaber Environmental Group as a volunteer director. He is now working on starting a repair and re-purposing centre called TINSTAR (which stands for There Is No Such Thing As Rubbish).

In Invergarry, Andrew is a Community Councillor and job-shares the role of Village Officer with his wife. He also volunteers at the local Community Woodland and helps on the committee which organises the Glengarry Highland Games.

Having completely eco-refurbished an older house, he is familiar with the many heating issues people people can face. Andrew believes that he along with other Green Highland Councillors can help make a difference in this time of Climate Emergency and Cost of Living crisis.

Andrew Baldrey is standing for Scottish Greens because the party has a track record of delivering sweeping positive change despite being a “smaller” party: in parliament, government and councils.

Andrew says: “The Greens commitment to a fairer and greener world translates into positive impacts for people and nature, not the powerful’s pals and donors. The Scottish Greens represent the politics of a better tomorrow and are the only party tackling the climate and ecological crises, working on a just transition towards a greener, fairer future, and we are the only party truly prepared to deliver for our communities.”
