Vote Ryan Barrowman in Cromarty Firth
The Highlands and Islands Greens announce Ryan Barrowman, aged 29, resident near Invergordon, as their candidate for the Cromarty Firth Ward By-Election.
Ryan Barrowman is dedicated to public service, being currently employed as a teacher, with a varied professional experience in tourism, engineering, and in the space industry.
Ryan’s campaign will focus on three key points. He will work to reduce energy costs, especially following the removal of the winter fuel payment for pensioners. He plans to support, and encourage, the current efforts of Highland Council to implement a local energy alternative for residents. He also wants to help people access the existing support and services they are entitled to.
Ryan also prioritises increasing council funds by asking tourists that pass through the Highlands to contribute financially towards the overstretched and underfunded public services they and the local community rely on.
Finally, Ryan pledges to be a truly local representative for the community, a strong voice for local democracy championing local causes in the Highland Council Chamber.
He states, “It’s the duty of a representative to represent their community. If elected I’ll hold regular surgeries across the ward, as well as provide accessible alternatives. I have no plans to disappear after election day.”
